100th Anniversary Guidelines
Historical Research
The committee is looking for your assistance. We need your help with the history of your shrine club and unit. These items will be used for the creation of a book/dvd/display. In the essence of time, we will be corresponding via email.
The project revised due date is 1/31/12. However, we know that some family members may not be available and that when sending things it may take a while longer. So, we can work together in getting these items.
When submitting your unit’s history or other historical documents please do the following:
Send to: ainadshrinersyearbook@gmail.com;.
In the Subject line please put the unit and/or shrine club's name followed by what the document or photograph of the event is referencing. Then, in the body please describe the event, document and photograph. If there are people in the photographs please write their names and the date (including year). However, there may be a time where you might have to guess. Do your best in order to date the photograph.
However, mailed submissions will be accepted. Please send the documents to the temple.

If you do not have a scanner and would like for us to include your photograph or document in the project please deliver to the temple. Or, send to the temple via return receipt and/or register mail for confirmation of receipt of your property. We know that some of the items are family treasures.
When submitting your shrine club or unit history please do the following:
Unit and or Shrine Club History. History could be 3-4 pages (if not more). The unit may have been in existence for a long time. Please include all honors and awards of the unit. Use Microsoft Word v2003 or later and save as ".doc". Finally, double space the document.
Some things to think about When writing your history...
When was the group started?
When and where was the first parade of the group (if marched)?
Where any of your members past potentates?
Were any of your members of the public (prominence...mayor, city councilman, alderman, congressman)?
Has the unit been in the papers over the years? Any articles or magazines, special inserts, etc.
Any recordings from the unit (if band/corps from over the years)? Send the recording as midi file, mp3, .wav or convert from reel to reel to current digital format.
Any speeches that were taped. Please follow the same guidelines as recordings.
Did your unit or shrine club have an album created?
Any special events that the unit did over the years? Any famous corps members that went on to play for national or regional bands?
Anything unique that would make our 100th anniversay special
Photographs, new and old. NOTE: When submitting photographs please scan the photograph and save as an Adobe Acrobat file "pdf" or an image file such as "jpeg". Please send the photograph to the email listed above.
Uniforms from the "BIG RED" groups...Arab patrol, Brass Band, Color Guard & Drum and Bugle Corps. Include your name and the size of the uniform. Please coordinate with temple staff, divan and historian for pick and up and return. Please make sure that the uniform is in good condition. Photograph and document who owned the uniform. Include any pictures of the owner. We know that this item is a family treasure.
Home movies or Video. Super 8 or home movies showing past shrine club and or unit activities would be great. However, if you have super 8 or other movie format please convert to CD/DVD. Please make a copy for your family and send one to us for use in the DVD.
